Tradition Calls—Will You Answer?

Upcoming Trad Hunters Themes

Writer Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in contributing to Trad Hunters Magazine! We’re always on the lookout for compelling stories and powerful imagery that celebrate the grit, spirit, and timeless tradition of bowhunting.

What We’re Looking For

Each issue of Trad Hunters Magazine is built around a central theme—whether it’s the unforgiving mountains of the West, the hardwoods of the Great Lakes, or the deep roots of Southern hunting culture. We look for stories and submissions that support and reflect these themes, while capturing the essence of adventure, challenge, and the lessons learned along the way.

Ideal submissions include:

  • Gritty, first-hand accounts that spotlight traditional bowhunting gear, close encounters, and meaningful takeaways.
  • Practical insights to improve woodsmanship, fieldcraft, and success in the backcountry or hardwoods—especially when they tie into a volume’s theme.
  • Articles about influential figures, pivotal events, or forgotten stories in the history of traditional archery.
  • Profiles of individuals or groups who carry forward the traditions, values, and hard-earned knowledge of traditional bowhunting.

We’re especially drawn to writing that explores personal growth, risk, reflection, and grit—the kind of hard-won knowledge you only earn in the field.

Story Submission Details

  • Online Exclusive: 500–1,200 words
